Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Today's BibleMouse lesson is all about how sounds change when we move closer or farther away!

💭 Review Question: What sounds did you hear yesterday in our Sound Detective Game?
2Teaching (5 min)

Let's explore how sounds change when we move. Sometimes sounds are loud when something is close, and soft when it's far away.

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Sounds get quieter as we move away
  • Some sounds travel differently depending on distance
  • We can use our listening ears to hear carefully
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • Can you hear mommy's voice from another room?
  • What happens to sound when you cover your ears?
3Activity: Near and Far Sound Adventure (6 min)
listening

Play a listening game where sounds are made at different distances

📝 Instructions:
  1. Have child close eyes or wear blindfold
  2. Ring bell or shake tambourine at different distances
  3. Ask child to point to where the sound is coming from
  4. Take turns making and guessing sounds
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Stay in same room, make sounds closer together

Challenge: Move to different rooms, make softer sounds

4Closing (3 min)

Review how sounds change when we move

📝 Review Questions:
  • What happened to the sound when I moved far away?
  • Could you still hear the sound?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn a special song about using our listening ears for Jesus!
