  • 3 whole crackers
  • small plate
  • napkin

Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Sing counting song from previous lesson, review numbers 1-3

💭 Review Question: How many crackers do you see?
2Teaching (5 min)

Introduce subtraction as 'taking away'

  • We started with 3, now we have 2

Eat crackers while counting down

📝 Instructions:
  1. Place 3 crackers on plate
  2. Count 'One, two, three crackers!'
  3. Eat one cracker and count 'Now we have two!'
  4. Eat another and count 'Now we have one!'
  5. Eat last cracker and say 'All gone!'
