Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Good morning, BibleMouse explorers! Let's remember how yesterday we learned about long and short things. Today, we'll discover a special pattern God created!

💭 Review Question: Can you show me something long from yesterday's lesson?
2Teaching (5 min)

God made a special pattern in the sky - day and night! Just like our clapping patterns, the sky has a pattern too!

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • The sun comes out - it's daytime!
  • Then the moon comes out - it's nighttime!
  • This happens over and over - a pattern!
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What do you see during the day?
  • What do you see at night?
3Activity: Sun and Moon Dance (6 min)
discussion and movement

Children will act out the day and night pattern using movement and a flashlight

📝 Instructions:
  1. Stand in a circle
  2. When I shine the light (sun), jump and smile
  3. When I turn off the light (night), curl up and pretend to sleep
  4. Repeat the pattern: light, dark, light, dark
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Parent guides child's movements

Challenge: Let child lead the pattern

4Closing (3 min)

Let's thank God for making such a beautiful pattern in the sky!

📝 Review Questions:
  • What pattern did we learn today?
  • Who made the day and night?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll make our own fun patterns with clapping and stomping!
