💭 Review Question: Can you show me how tall you were yesterday?
2Teaching (5 min)

Today we'll explore how one thing can be a whole, and then become parts!

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Look at this beautiful whole apple
  • Apples grow on trees that God created
  • Watch how we can change the whole apple
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What color is our apple?
  • Can you see the whole apple?
3Activity: Apple Whole and Parts (6 min)
demonstration and snack

Parent carefully cuts apple into pieces, demonstrating whole becoming parts

📝 Instructions:
  1. Show whole apple first
  2. Count the pieces after cutting
  3. Let child touch and explore pieces
  4. Enjoy eating apple pieces together
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Just show whole and cut, less counting

Challenge: Count pieces, discuss fractions

4Closing (3 min)

Review what we learned about whole and parts

📝 Review Questions:
  • Was this an apple before we cut it?
  • Are these still apple pieces?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll break bread to share, just like our apple!
