Psalm 139:7-8

β€œWhere could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there!”

β€” Psalm 139:7-8 (WEB)

This psalm shows us that God is everywhere - no matter where we go, God sees us and is with us, just like we'll act out in our movement activity

πŸ“¦ Materials Needed

  • open space for movement
  • mirror from this week's materials
  • optional: stuffed animal or doll

Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Welcome to today's BibleMouse lesson! Yesterday we learned that God made you wonderful - you are exactly how God wanted you to be! Today we're going to discover something amazing: God sees you everywhere you go! Look in the mirror with me. Can you see yourself? God sees you too - everywhere!

πŸ’ Review Question: Can you remember what we learned yesterday? God made you... what? (Wonderful!)
2Teaching (5 min)

God has very special eyes! He can see you when you're playing in your room, when you're eating lunch, when you're sleeping in your bed, and even when you're hiding under a blanket! God sees you everywhere because He loves you and wants to take care of you. The Bible tells us that no matter where we go, God is there with us!

πŸ“Œ Key Talking Points:
  • God's eyes can see everywhere - even places we can't see
  • God watches over us because He loves us and wants to keep us safe
  • We never have to be afraid because God is always with us
πŸ’¬ Discussion Questions:
  • Where do you like to play? God sees you there!
  • When you go to sleep, is God still watching over you?
3Activity: God Sees Me Everywhere Game (6 min)
movement

We're going to pretend to do different activities around the house and say 'God sees me!' after each one. This will help us remember that God is always watching over us with love!

πŸ“ Instructions:
  1. Start by pretending to eat - make eating motions and say 'God sees me eating!'
  2. Pretend to sleep - curl up on the floor, close eyes, then pop up and say 'God sees me sleeping!'
  3. Pretend to play - do a fun dance or jump around, then say 'God sees me playing!'
  4. Pretend to hide - cover face with hands, peek out and say 'God sees me hiding!'
  5. End by looking in the mirror together and saying 'God sees me everywhere!'
πŸ”„ Variations:

Simpler: Just do 2-3 actions and help child say the words, focus more on the fun movements

Challenge: Add more activities like brushing teeth, getting dressed, or helping mommy, and have child suggest new actions

4Closing (3 min)

What a fun way to remember that God sees us everywhere! God loves you so much that He never stops watching over you. You are never alone because God is always there!

πŸ“ Review Questions:
  • Does God see you when you're playing? Yes!
  • Does God see you when you're sleeping? Yes!
πŸ™ Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for watching over me everywhere I go. Help me remember that You are always with me. I love You! Amen.

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about how big God's love is for you - bigger than anything you can imagine!

Genesis 1:1

β€œGod made everything!”

β€” Genesis 1:1 (WEB)

🎯 Activity: Practice while doing jumping jacks - say 'God made' (jump out), 'everything!' (jump in). Do 5 times together, then let child lead you in doing it 3 more times.

Teaching Notes

πŸ“š Background:

Psalm 139 is a beautiful chapter about God's omnipresence and omniscience. For PK3, we focus on the comforting truth that God sees and cares for them everywhere, building security rather than fear of being watched.

πŸ’‘ Teaching Tips:
  • Use an excited, wonder-filled voice when talking about God seeing everywhere
  • If your child seems worried about being 'watched,' emphasize that God watches because He loves them, like how you watch them to keep them safe
πŸ€” Common Struggles:

Some children might feel scared about being watched all the time. Focus on God's love and protection rather than surveillance.

πŸ‘€ Signs of Understanding:

Child enthusiastically participating in movements and beginning to understand that God is always present with them

Extension Activities

  • Throughout the day, randomly ask 'Does God see you now?' and celebrate with a happy 'Yes!' together
  • Play hide-and-seek and remind child that even when you can't see them, God can - check your BibleMouse Resource Guide for Grade PK3 Bible for more hide-and-seek variations that reinforce this truth
