Welcome your young students and say, 'In our BibleMouse lesson today, we're going to learn all about how God made the bright day and the dark night!
Explain that in the Bible, in Genesis 1:4-5, it says 'God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light 'day', and the darkness he called 'night'.' This means that God made the day and the night! He separated the light from the darkness.
Invite the children to stand up and get ready to move! When you shine the flashlight (day), they will dance and move around happily. When you turn off the flashlight (night), they will curl up and pretend to sleep.
Simpler: For younger or less active children, have them just sway back and forth during the day and gently rock during the night.
Challenge: For more active children, have them do jumping jacks during the day and tip-toe around during the night.

Dear God, thank you for making the bright, sunny day and the dark, starry night. Help us to appreciate all the amazing things you have created. Amen.

Some children may have difficulty transitioning between the day and night activities. Be patient and provide support as needed.
Look for the children to demonstrate an understanding of day and night through their movements and responses to your questions.
