Child will experience the difference between darkness and light through sensory play
Child will feel wonder and gratitude for God's amazing power
βGod said, "Let there be light," and there was light.β
β Genesis 1:3 (WEB)This verse shows us God's incredible power - He simply spoke and light appeared in the darkness! Just like when we turn on a flashlight, but God didn't need any tools.
Welcome to your very first BibleMouse lesson! Today we're starting an exciting adventure learning about how God made our beautiful world. Let's begin by sitting in a dark room or closing our eyes tight. What do you notice? It's very dark! But God has something amazing planned.
Long, long ago, before there were any people, before there were any animals, before there was anything at all, the world was completely dark. But God was there! And God had a wonderful plan. Listen to what happened next from God's special book, the Bible.
Experience the wonder of God's first creation through hands-on exploration with light and darkness, just like in the very beginning!
Simpler: Just focus on turning the flashlight on and off while saying 'Light!' and 'Dark!'
Challenge: Have child predict what will happen when we say God's words, then act out being the light appearing
What an amazing God we have! He made light just by speaking. Tomorrow in our BibleMouse lesson, we'll discover what God did with all that beautiful light He made.
Dear God, thank You for making light! Help us remember how powerful and wonderful You are. Amen.
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn how God separated the light from the darkness to make day and night!
βGod made everything!β
β Genesis 1:1 (WEB)π― Activity: Practice saying the verse while pointing up to God, then spreading arms wide for 'everything.' Repeat 3 times with different silly voices - whisper voice, happy voice, and strong voice!
This lesson introduces the creation account, focusing on God's power and intentionality. For PK3, we're emphasizing the wonder and simplicity of God speaking light into existence rather than complex theological concepts.
Some children may be frightened by darkness - reassure them that God was always there and had a good plan
Watch for your child's sense of wonder when the light appears and their ability to connect God with making light
