“Your hands have framed me and fashioned me altogether.”
— Job 10:8 (WEB)God carefully designed our sense of touch to help us explore and understand the world around us
Welcome to today's BibleMouse science adventure! Yesterday we learned about hearing, and today we'll explore how our skin helps us feel and learn about the world around us.
Our skin is like a special covering that helps us feel different things. When we touch something, tiny sensors in our skin send messages to our brain about what we're touching.
Use a blindfold to explore different textures and guess what they are
Simpler: Touch objects without blindfold and sort by texture
Challenge: Guess temperature of objects with careful touch
Review how our skin helps us learn about the world
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll explore how our nose and tongue work together to taste and smell!
Young children are naturally curious about touch and textures
Children might get overstimulated or frustrated with blindfold
