Identify the sequence from egg to chick to adult chicken

3

Develop curiosity about God's amazing design in animal growth

Genesis 1:21

God created the large sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good.

Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Let's explore how baby chickens grow! Yesterday we learned about how baby animals change as they grow. Today, we'll look closely at how a tiny egg becomes a fluffy chick!

💭 Review Question: Can you remember what we learned about baby animals yesterday?
2Teaching (8 min)

Chickens have a special way of growing. They start as a tiny egg, then become a soft chick, and finally grow into a big chicken!

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Eggs are like special homes where baby chickens grow
  • Chicks break out of their eggs when they're ready
  • Adult chickens can lay new eggs and start the cycle again
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What do you think is inside an egg?
  • How do you think a baby chick gets out of its egg?
3Activity: Chicken Life Cycle Craft (10 min)
hands-on

Create a fun life cycle craft showing how chickens grow

📝 Instructions:
  1. Take your egg carton and cut out one section
  2. Draw a tiny egg in the first section
  3. In the next section, draw a baby chick
  4. In the last section, draw a full-grown chicken
  5. Use your BibleMouse Life Cycle Cards to help you
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Parent helps draw or cut shapes

Challenge: Add labels to each stage of the life cycle

4Closing (3 min)

Let's review what we learned about chicken life cycles!

📝 Review Questions:
  • What are the stages of a chicken's life?
  • How do baby chicks come out of eggs?

Coming up: Tomorrow, we'll explore how butterflies change and grow!
