Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Welcome to today's BibleMouse science adventure! Let's review what we learned about living things yesterday.

💭 Review Question: Can you tell me one animal habitat we talked about yesterday?
2Teaching (8 min)

Every living thing needs four special things to survive: food, water, air, and shelter. Just like God carefully designed the world to take care of all creatures!

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Food gives creatures energy to grow
  • Water helps living things stay healthy
  • Air helps us breathe and plants make oxygen
  • Shelter keeps creatures safe from danger
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What do you think a bird needs to live?
  • How do plants get their food?
3Activity: Living Things Needs Matching Game (10 min)
discussion

Use BibleMouse animal and plant cards to match creatures with their specific needs

📝 Instructions:
  1. Spread out animal and plant cards
  2. Find food, water, air, and shelter for each creature
  3. Talk about how each living thing gets what it needs
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Parent helps match cards

Challenge: Child explains how each need is met

4Closing (3 min)

Recap the four needs and thank God for His amazing design

📝 Review Questions:
  • What are the four things living things need?
  • Who makes sure all creatures have what they need?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about caring for God's wonderful creation!
