Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Gather students in a circle. Explain that today is a special celebration of their reading journey. Hang the celebration banner and play soft, encouraging music.

2Teaching (5 min)

Review the phonics skills learned throughout the year: letter sounds, CVC words, digraphs, blends, and sight words.

3Activity: Phonics Skills Celebration Game (7 min)

Play a mixed review game where students collect cards for different phonics skills they've mastered

📝 Instructions:
  1. Spread alphabet and sound cards on the floor
  2. Students take turns finding and explaining different phonics skills
  3. Collect stickers for each skill demonstrated
  4. Cheer and celebrate each student's achievements

Present each student with a 'Reading Champion' certificate
