Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Gather students in a circle. Explain that today we'll learn about special letter friends that love to work together called blends.

💭 Review Question: Who can tell me what sounds letters make?
2Teaching (7 min)

Today we'll learn about 'br' and 'cr' blends. When 'b' and 'r' come together, they make a special sound. Same with 'c' and 'r'!

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Br sounds like in 'brag' and 'brim'
  • Cr sounds like in 'crab' and 'crop'
  • We can build words by putting these letters together

  • Can you hear the 'br' sound?
