Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Welcome to today's BibleMouse music adventure! Yesterday we explored dancing with scarves, and today we'll learn how different music makes our bodies move differently.

💭 Review Question: Can you show me how you moved with your scarf yesterday?
2Teaching (7 min)

Today we'll explore how music tells our bodies how to move. Some music makes us march like soldiers, some makes us skip like happy children, and some makes us sway like gentle trees.

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Marching music has a strong, steady beat
  • Skipping music is light and bouncy
  • Swaying music is smooth and flowing
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What kind of music makes you want to move?
  • How do you think David felt when he danced before God?
3Activity: Musical Movement Exploration (8 min)
movement exploration

Listen to different music and move your body to match the rhythm and feeling of each song.

📝 Instructions:
  1. When you hear a march, stand tall and step firmly
  2. When you hear a bouncy tune, skip lightly
  3. When you hear a smooth song, sway like a tree
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Parent demonstrates movements before child tries

Challenge: Child creates their own movement for each music style

4Closing (3 min)

Celebrate how God gave us bodies that can move and praise Him through music!

📝 Review Questions:
  • What was your favorite way to move today?
  • How can moving to music show God we love Him?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about the walls of Jericho and how marching can tell a story!
