Introduction to Rhythm Patterns
Recognize and repeat simple rhythm patterns using ta and ti-ti
Develop listening and echo skills through musical play
Practice following directions with joy and enthusiasm
“Make a joyful noise to Yahweh, all the earth! Break out and sing for joy, yes, sing praises!”
— Psalm 98:4 (WEB)Celebrates making music and rhythmic sounds to praise God
Recall yesterday's lesson about long and short sounds. Remind child how we learned about 'ta' (long sound) and 'ti-ti' (two short sounds).
Introduce 'Clapping Conversations' where we'll take turns creating and echoing rhythm patterns
Parent creates simple clapping patterns for child to repeat, gradually increasing complexity
Simpler: Use only 2-3 claps in a pattern
Challenge: Add more complex patterns or use rhythm cards
Celebrate the rhythms we've created together
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn 'Jesus Loves Me' and add some special clapping patterns!
Rhythm learning at this age is about listening, repeating, and having fun
Children might get frustrated if they can't repeat patterns exactly
Enjoyment of the activity, attempt to listen and repeat
