  • World English Bible

Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Gather students and review previous day's data collection lesson

💭 Review Question: What colors did we count yesterday?
2Teaching (8 min)

Introduce concept of object graphing

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Today in BibleMouse math, we'll learn how to make a graph using real objects
  • We'll sort our objects and line them up in columns
  • Each column will show how many of each type of object we have
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What different objects could we use to make a graph?
  • How can we tell which column has more?
3Activity: Colorful Button Graph (10 min)
hands-on

Create a graph using colored buttons

📝 Instructions:
  1. Spread out buttons of different colors
  2. Draw columns on poster board
  3. Sort buttons by color into columns
  4. Count how many buttons are in each column
🔄 Variations:

Challenge: Add a second graph comparing button sizes

4Closing (3 min)

Review graph and discuss findings

📝 Review Questions:
  • Which color had the most buttons?
  • How many blue buttons did we have?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about picture graphs in our BibleMouse curriculum
