Identify and use action verbs
Write simple sentences using 'I can' and an action verb

Gather students in a circle. Ask them to show different actions they can do, like jumping, running, or skipping.
Explain that action verbs tell us what we do. Every time we do something, we use a verb. Just like we can do many things, God gives us strength to do amazing things!
Students will create simple 'I can' sentences with action verbs and draw a picture to match
Simpler: Trace 'I can' sentences with teacher help
Challenge: Write two different 'I can' sentences
Share some of the 'I can' sentences and pictures
Dear Jesus, thank you for giving us the ability to do many things. Help us use our actions to show your love.
