“Out of the ground Yahweh God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.”
— Genesis 2:19-20 (WEB)God gave Adam the special gift of language to name and understand the world around him
Gather children in a circle. Explain that today we'll learn about how God gave us the amazing gift of words.
In the Bible, God showed Adam how special language is by letting him name all the animals. Words help us tell stories, share feelings, and understand each other.
Children will create and name their own imaginary animal, drawing and naming it creatively
Simpler: Teacher helps children draw
Challenge: Write first letter of animal name
Remind children that God loves how we use words to communicate and learn
Dear Jesus, thank you for giving us words to share love and learn about Your world.
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about our special names!
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
— Proverbs 16:24 (WEB)🎯 Activity: Whisper the verse and have children repeat, making a sweet face
