Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Gather students in a circle and share the goal of reviewing their writing journey. Remind them that growth is a process and every piece of writing helps us improve.

Review the three writing types: narrative, informative, and opinion. Discuss how each type helps communicate different kinds of information and ideas.

  3. Choose best piece from each category
  4. Write a short reflection about why you chose each piece

Share selected portfolio pieces and celebrate writing growth
