— Genesis 2:19-20 (WEB)God gave humans the unique ability to name and communicate
Welcome students and explain that today we'll discover how God gave humans the amazing gift of language. Sit in a circle and share one interesting word you love.
In Genesis, we see God bringing animals to Adam so he could name them. This shows that God trusted humans with the incredible ability to use language and communicate.
Students will practice creative naming like Adam by inventing descriptive names for imaginary creatures
Simpler: Draw and name a known animal
Challenge: Create a detailed backstory for the creature
Reflect on how wonderfully God designed language as a way to understand and enjoy His creation
Dear God, thank You for the wonderful gift of language. Help us use our words to praise You and encourage others.
