Begin with a prayer thanking God for creating such beautiful landscapes. Show students a large US physical geography map and ask them to point out any landforms they recognize.
Explore the major landforms of the United States, including the Rocky Mountains, Appalachian Mountains, Great Plains, Central Valley, and Colorado Plateau.
Students will create a detailed map of US landforms, coloring and labeling major geographical features.
Simpler: Pre-mark major landforms for students to color
Challenge: Add elevation details and research indigenous plant life for each region
Review the landforms discovered and discuss how God's creative design shows in Earth's diversity.
