Gather students and explain how people can work together to solve problems peacefully. Ask students to share times they've worked as a team.
In September 1774, 56 delegates from 12 colonies met in Philadelphia to discuss their response to British policies. They were like a family working together to solve a big problem.
Students role-play as delegates from different colonies, discussing a common problem and creating a united response.
Simpler: Teacher guides the discussion more closely
Challenge: Students must create written arguments for their position
Recap how working together can create positive change
Dear God, help us to work together with kindness and respect, listening to one another and seeking peaceful solutions.
