Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Welcome to today's BibleMouse adventure! We're exploring how God's law is like a signpost pointing us to Jesus.

💭 Review Question: What did we learn about the early church spreading the good news in our last lesson?
2Teaching (10 min)

In our BibleMouse curriculum, we're discovering how every part of the Bible connects to God's big rescue plan.

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • The law shows us what sin looks like
  • We can't perfectly follow God's law on our own
  • Jesus fulfills the law for us
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What do you think it means that we can't follow the law perfectly?
  • How does Jesus help us when we can't keep God's commands?
3Activity: Law Signpost Diagram (12 min)
purpose study

Create a visual representation of how the law points to Jesus

📝 Instructions:

  2. On the road, write examples of God's law
  3. At the signpost, write 'Points to Jesus'
  4. Draw arrows showing how the law leads to Jesus
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Use fewer law examples

4Closing (3 min)

Recap our BibleMouse discovery about God's amazing rescue plan

📝 Review Questions:
  • What did we learn about the law today?
  • How does the law show we need Jesus?
🙏 Prayer:

Thank God for sending Jesus to help us when we can't follow the law perfectly

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll explore how prophets predicted Jesus' coming

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12 (WEB)

🎯 Activity: Memory Verse Sword Dance - Children act out the verse by making 'sword' motions while reciting, emphasizing how God's word cuts through to the heart
