Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Gather students in a circle and explain the book talk presentation guidelines. Remind students to be encouraging listeners and supportive of their classmates.

2Teaching (10 min)

Model a book talk presentation about a book students are familiar with, demonstrating how to share exciting details without revealing the entire plot.

  • Share book title and author
  • Describe main character briefly
  • Explain why the book is interesting
  • Avoid giving away the ending
  • Speak clearly and confidently

3Activity: Book Talk Time (10 min)
