Gather students in a circle. Ask, 'What do you think history means?' Allow several responses. Explain that history is like being a detective who discovers stories from the past.
History is the study of people, places, and events that happened before we were born. Just like God knows every story in the Bible, historians help us understand stories from long ago.
Students will create a simple timeline of three family stories they know
Simpler: Use stickers or pre-drawn images to help tell stories
Challenge: Add specific dates and more detailed descriptions
Recap what we learned about history being God's way of showing us how He works through people and time
Dear God, thank You for giving us stories that help us understand Your great plan. Help us learn and remember.
