Welcome to today's BibleMouse art adventure! Last time we explored how lines can show different emotions. Today, we'll learn a special drawing technique that helps us see things differently.
Contour drawing is a special technique where you draw an object by looking ONLY at the object, not your paper. Your pencil moves exactly where your eyes go!
Students will practice contour drawing with household objects
Simpler: Use larger objects with clear outlines
Challenge: Try drawing a family member who can hold very still
Share your unique drawings! Remember, perfection isn't the goal - careful observation is.
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll explore cross-contour drawing to show object dimensions
Contour drawing teaches observation and hand-eye coordination
Children may get frustrated if drawings look 'weird'
Sustained focus and willingness to try something new
