Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Today's BibleMouse lesson explores how animals survive when their homes change. Just like God provides for His creation, animals have amazing ways of adapting!

💭 Review Question: What did we learn yesterday about how animals match their habitats?
2Teaching (10 min)

Habitat changes happen through seasons, weather, and natural events. Some animals migrate, some hibernate, and some adapt their fur or behavior.

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Animals have special ways to survive changes
  • God designed creatures to be flexible
  • Habitats are always changing
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What happens to a rabbit's fur in winter?
  • How might birds prepare for cold weather?
3Activity: Habitat Change Detective (12 min)
investigation

Draw an animal in two different seasonal habitats

📝 Instructions:
  1. Choose an animal from your habitat cards
  2. Fold paper in half
  3. Draw the animal in summer habitat on one side
  4. Draw same animal in winter habitat on other side
  5. Color and label differences
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Parent helps draw or trace

Challenge: Write 2-3 sentences about habitat changes

4Closing (3 min)

Reflect on how wonderfully God created animals to survive

📝 Review Questions:
  • What did you learn about habitat changes?
  • How do animals stay safe when their home changes?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll start our Habitat Research Project!
