Gather students in a circle and introduce the 'aw' sound with a fun sound game. Make the /aw/ sound and have students repeat and pantomime drawing or yawning.
Demonstrate how 'aw' makes the /aw/ sound at the end or middle of words. Write example words on the board: saw, law, draw, straw, yawn.
Students will build and sort 'aw' words using letter tiles or magnetic letters.
Simpler: Provide letter tiles with 'aw' already separated
