— Proverbs 22:20 (WEB)God wants us to read and understand His words clearly and with joy
Gather students and explain that today we're learning how to become better readers who can share God's love through clear communication.
Explain the three parts of reading fluency: accuracy (reading words correctly), rate (reading speed), and expression (reading with feeling).
Students will do a first-time reading of a short passage to establish their baseline reading speed.
Simpler: Teacher helps count words and track progress
Challenge: Students graph their own reading progress
Recap what we learned about reading fluency
Dear Jesus, help us become strong readers who can share Your love clearly.
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll practice reading the same passage multiple times to get better!
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”
— Psalm 119:105 (WEB)🎯 Activity: Flashlight reading: Shine a flashlight on the verse while memorizing
