💭 Review Question: What makes a whole note different from other notes?
2Teaching (8 min)

Introduce mixing different note values in rhythm patterns

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Remember how quarter notes are one beat?
  • Half notes hold for two beats
  • Whole notes stretch for four beats
  • We can mix these together to create interesting rhythms!
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • Can you think of a way to mix different note lengths?
  • How might we create a rhythm that sounds like a heartbeat?
3Activity: Rhythm Mix Master (10 min)
game

Create and perform rhythm patterns using body percussion

📝 Instructions:
  1. Draw four empty measure lines on paper
  2. Use rhythm cards to help choose note values
  3. Fill measures with quarter, half, and whole notes

🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Use only two types of notes instead of three

Challenge: Create a two-line rhythm pattern with more complex combinations
