Good morning! Today we're going to learn about the special people who help take care of our community. These are our local government leaders who work to make our town or city a great place to live.
Local government is like a big family that takes care of our neighborhood. The mayor is like the leader of our community family. City council members help make important decisions about things like parks, schools, and keeping our streets safe.

We learned today that local leaders work hard to help our community be a safe and happy place to live.
