Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Gather students and show a large map of the United States. Point out the Southwestern states: Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and part of Nevada and Colorado.

Explore the unique characteristics of the Southwest desert landscape, including its dry climate, rocky terrain, and sparse vegetation.
