2Teaching (10 min)

Today we'll become shape detectives, discovering how everyday objects are made of simple geometric forms!

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • A ball is a perfect sphere
  • A soup can is a cylinder

  • Every object can be broken down into basic shapes
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • Can you find a sphere in our kitchen?
  • What objects in our home look like cylinders?
3Activity: Shape Detective Drawing Challenge (15 min)
observation and drawing

Collect 3-5 household objects. Draw each object by first seeing its basic geometric form.

📝 Instructions:
  1. Choose an object
  2. Identify its basic shape (sphere, cylinder, cube)
  3. Lightly sketch the basic shape
  4. Add details to make it look like the real object
  5. Color or shade your drawing
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Trace around objects to get basic shapes

Challenge: Draw objects from different angles

4Closing (5 min)

Share your shape detective drawings and celebrate your artistic discoveries!

📝 Review Questions:
  • What shapes did you find today?
  • How are shapes like God's building blocks of creation?

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll create a still life using objects with clear geometric forms
