Develop observational skills
Appreciate God's design in creation
“Yahweh, how many are your works! In wisdom have you made them all. The earth is full of your riches.”
— Psalm 104:24 (WEB)God creates beautiful, intentional patterns in the world around us
Gather students and explain that today we're going to be 'Pattern Detectives' looking for God's amazing designs everywhere!
Patterns are repeated designs that show order and beauty. God loves patterns - look at how He made butterfly wings, flower petals, and snowflakes!
Students will walk around the room and outside (if possible) to find and draw patterns they discover
Simpler: Focus on finding 3 patterns
Challenge: Categorize patterns by type (color, shape, size)
Share pattern discoveries and praise God for His incredible design skills
Dear Jesus, thank You for making such beautiful patterns in Your world. Help us see Your wonderful designs everywhere!
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn how to create our own repeating patterns
“Yahweh, how many are your works! In wisdom have you made them all.”
— Psalm 104:24 (WEB)🎯 Activity: Pattern Repeat: Children repeat the verse, clapping on key words
Children are learning to observe and appreciate design principles
Some children might get distracted during observation time
Detailed sketches, excitement about discovered patterns
