— Psalm 104:24 (WEB)God creates amazing textures in His world with incredible variety and detail
Gather students and explain we're going on a texture discovery adventure! Ask them to touch different surfaces in the room and describe how they feel.
Texture is how something feels when you touch it. God made the world with so many different textures - rough, smooth, bumpy, soft.
Students will collect texture rubbings from various surfaces around inside and outside the classroom or home.
Simpler: Help students find and rub very obvious textures
Challenge: Find more subtle or complex textures to rub
Share texture rubbings and talk about how God creates amazing textures in His world
Dear Jesus, thank You for creating such a wonderful world with so many beautiful textures for us to discover and enjoy.
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn how to draw different textures with our pencils!
