💭 Review Question: Can you think of something in nature that feels different when you touch it?
2Teaching (10 min)

Introduce the two types of texture: real texture (what you can feel) and visual texture (what looks like it would feel a certain way).

📌 Key Talking Points:

  • How might a rock feel different from a leaf?
3Activity: Texture Mystery Box (7 min)
hands-on exploration

Students will explore different textures by touch, guessing what they're feeling

📝 Instructions:
  1. Blindfold each student
  2. Place different textured objects in a box
  3. Let students reach in and guess the object by feeling its texture
  4. Discuss what they felt and how it was different from other objects
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Reduce number of objects in the box

Challenge: Ask students to describe the texture using descriptive words

📝 Review Questions:
  • What was your favorite texture today?
  • Can you name a real texture and a visual texture?
