How Plants Work
Understand how plants transport water through their stems
Observe the results of the celery experiment
Recognize God's amazing design in plant growth
“God said, 'Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with their seeds in them, on the earth;' and it was so.”
— Genesis 1:11 (WEB)Demonstrates God's intentional design in plant creation and growth
Welcome to today's BibleMouse science adventure! Let's remember our celery experiment from yesterday and get excited to see what happened!
Plants are amazing living things that God designed to move water from their roots to their leaves. Just like we drink water through our mouth, plants 'drink' water through their stems!
Examine the celery stalks from yesterday's experiment and see how the colored water traveled up the plant
Simpler: Parent helps child observe and describe the colored veins
Challenge: Measure how high the color has traveled in different celery stalks
Praise God for the wonderful way He made plants to grow and get water!
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about how plants use sunlight to make their food!
This lesson builds on the previous day's experiment, helping children understand plant water transportation
Children might get impatient or not understand the full process of water movement
Child's ability to describe what they see in the colored celery stems
