Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Gather students and show a globe. Ask them what different shapes they see on the Earth's surface.

💭 Review Question: What different land shapes do you know?
2Teaching (8 min)

Explain different landforms: mountains, valleys, plains, hills, and rivers.

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Mountains are tall, rocky places
  • Valleys are low areas between hills or mountains
  • Plains are flat, open areas
  • God made each landform special and beautiful
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What landform do you think is the most interesting?
  • How might different landforms help animals live?
3Activity: Create Your Own Landform World (10 min)
hands-on

Students will create a landscape using clay on blue paper representing water.

📝 Instructions:
  1. Spread blue paper as your 'ocean'
  2. Use clay to create mountains, valleys, and hills
  3. Use plastic knife to create rivers or valleys
  4. Name your landforms
🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Use pre-made mountain models to arrange

Challenge: Add small toy animals to show how they might live in different landforms

4Closing (2 min)

Share landform creations and discuss how each is unique

📝 Review Questions:
  • What landforms did you create?
  • How are mountains different from valleys?
🙏 Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for creating such wonderful and different landscapes on our Earth. Help us appreciate Your amazing design.

Coming up: Tomorrow we will learn how to read maps and find these landforms!
