Gather students and review previous day's pronoun lesson. Explain that today we'll be like word detectives, finding repeated words and making our writing sound smoother.
Show an example paragraph with many repeated nouns. Demonstrate how replacing some nouns with pronouns makes the writing sound better.
Students will receive a short paragraph about a child helping their family. They will circle repeated nouns and replace them with appropriate pronouns.
