“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
— Proverbs 16:24 (WEB)Our words can be a blessing, just like the sweet words in this verse. Today we'll carefully choose and polish our words.
Gather students and review the goal of publishing their best writing. Remind them that God gives us the ability to communicate and share our thoughts.
Demonstrate the publishing process by selecting a sample piece of writing and showing how to edit, clean up, and illustrate it beautifully.
Students will select their favorite piece of writing from the year, carefully edit it, and create a beautifully illustrated final version.
Simpler: Help students with more extensive editing
Challenge: Add a dedication page or write an 'About the Author' section
Celebrate the students' hard work and writing growth
Dear God, thank You for giving us the wonderful gift of words. Help us use our writing to share love and kindness. Amen.
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll share our published writing in our Author's Chair Celebration!
