Gather students in a circle. Explain that today we'll learn about how-to writing, which helps people learn how to do something new.
How-to writing is like giving a friend a map to do something step by step. Just like God gives us instructions in the Bible, we can write instructions to help others learn.
Students will practice giving and following step-by-step instructions to draw a simple picture
Simpler: Draw a simple shape
Challenge: Draw a more complex picture with multiple steps
