Gather students and introduce today as 'Spelling Detective Day'. Put on pretend detective hats or give small magnifying glasses.
Today we'll learn how to find and fix spelling mistakes like word detectives. We look carefully at each word and use clues to check if it's spelled right.
Students will circle words they think might be misspelled and use detective strategies to check them.
