Show pictures of log cabins. Ask children to imagine living in a home they built themselves.
Pioneers worked hard to build homes using trees from the forest. They cut logs, fit them together carefully, and used mud and clay to fill spaces between logs.
Children will use blocks to construct a simple log cabin, learning about fitting pieces together.
Simpler: Pre-stack some blocks for younger children
Challenge: Try to make a cabin with a roof
Remind children how God helps families create homes and care for each other.
Dear God, thank You for providing homes and families who love and care for each other.
