Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Show children a washboard and ask if they know what it is. Demonstrate how clothes were washed by hand.

💭 Review Question: What is the hardest chore you've seen adults do?
2Teaching (8 min)

Explain how people used to wash clothes by hand, scrubbing each item on a rough washboard. Talk about how washing machines make this work much easier.
