Learn what stewardship means
Create a personal pledge to care for resources
“God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.'”
— Genesis 1:28 (WEB)God gave humans the special job of taking care of His beautiful creation
Gather in a circle and ask children what they know about taking care of things. Explain that today we'll learn about being special helpers for God's world.
God made us special caretakers of His creation. Just like parents trust children to take care of a special toy, God trusts us to take care of the earth.
Children will create a colorful poster with personal promises about caring for God's creation.
Simpler: Create 1-2 simple promises with adult help
Challenge: Include specific actions with details
Review what we learned about being God's helpers
Dear God, thank You for giving us the beautiful world. Help us be good helpers and take care of everything You created. Amen.
Coming up: Next week, we'll learn more about how we can be kind to others and share what we have.
“The earth is Yahweh's, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell in it.”
— Psalm 24:1 (WEB)🎯 Activity: Create hand motions to help remember the verse
