— Romans 13:1 (WEB)God places leaders in positions to help take care of communities
Show pictures of local town hall and local leaders. Ask children what they know about people who help run our town.
Local leaders like the mayor work to help make our town a good place to live. They make sure streets are safe, parks are clean, and people have what they need.
Children help create a simple map marking important town locations and discussing who helps take care of each area.
Simpler: Teacher draws map, children color and point
Challenge: Children draw their own map from memory
Remind children that leaders help communities and that we can pray for them
Dear God, thank you for the leaders in our town who work hard to help people. Please give them wisdom and help them serve our community.
Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about rules that keep our community safe!
“I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.”
