Gather children in a circle and ask them what they know about where they live. Explain that today we'll be detectives discovering our town's special story.
Introduce the concept of community history using simple, age-appropriate language. Show pictures of the town from long ago and now.
Create a colorful poster showing when the town was founded, using simple drawings and facts
Simpler: Use pre-printed images for younger children
Challenge: Include 2-3 interesting facts about town's founding
Share posters and celebrate learning about our community
