Judges 6:11-12

The angel of Yahweh came, and sat under the oak which was in Ophrah, that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite. His son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press, to hide it from the Midianites. The angel of Yahweh appeared to him, and said to him, 'Yahweh is with you, you mighty man of valor!'

Today we're going to learn about Gideon, who was hiding from enemies. Sometimes we feel scared too, but God sees how brave we can be!

  • He was trying to keep food safe by working in a secret place
  • God saw Gideon and called him a mighty warrior!

Children will act out Gideon's hiding experience using a blanket and flashlight

  2. Take turns being Gideon hiding from enemies
  3. Use flashlight to represent the angel appearing
