Lesson Plan

1Opening (5 min)

Gather around and review our color mixing adventures from previous days. Remind children how we've already learned about green and purple!

💭 Review Question: What two colors did we mix to make purple?
2Teaching (10 min)

Introduce the color wheel as God's amazing color design

📌 Key Talking Points:
  • Primary colors are like the 'building blocks' of all other colors
  • Red, yellow, and blue are special colors that can't be made by mixing
  • When we mix primary colors, we create new colors called secondary colors
💬 Discussion Questions:
  • What colors do you see around God's beautiful world?
  • Can you name something red? Something yellow? Something blue?
3Activity: Color Wheel Creation (15 min)
hands-on

Create a simple color wheel showing primary and secondary colors

🔄 Variations:

Simpler: Pre-draw color wheel sections for child to fill in
